Austin, Texas: high school teacher Diana (Lindsay Burdge) has an affair with Eric (Will Brittain), one of her students. The forbidden love is not meant to last, but the young teacher loses control of her feelings... The indie drama “A Teacher” celebrated its world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. It is only the second feature film for director Hannah Fidell, after she initially directed the drama “We're Glad You're Here” (2010; also starring Lindsay Burdge), in which she also starred. Hannah Fidell also directed the short film “The Gathering Squall” (2011). She recently directed the eight-part series “Pam & Tommy” (2021) about the scandal surrounding the private sex tapes of actress Pamela Anderson. Shortly after the premiere of “A Teacher”, it was announced that a ten-part miniseries would be made from the drama's material; this appeared under the same title in April 2021, with Kate Mara and Nick Robinson in the leading roles.
