Mini Series | Episode 7: The snail train has twelve stations / The riffraff

Janoschs Traumstunde

Book adaptation/Family, Germany 1986

The snail train has twelve stations All the children go away on vacation. Hannes Strohkopp has to stay at home because his father is poor. Instead, he goes on an excursion to the surrounding area, and as he falls asleep in the grass, he dreams of a ride on the snail train, which, as is well known, transports the inhabitants of the grass world from place to place. Hannes, the "fare dodger," narrowly escapes a ticket inspection. In Blaubeerwald and Grashügelshausen, he experiences things that his friends in Spain certainly don't get to see. The ragamuffin The little hen and the little rooster want to go to the market in town. Of course, the ragamuffin "forgets" to pay, like the nuts at the market. After also emptying a stolen bottle of beer, they stagger through the streets. Finally, clever as they are, they even cheat the cab driver out of his wages. What a bunch of riffraff!
